Yard Sale, Repair Cafe & MORE
One of the reasons Glasgow Tool Library exists is to help you reduce the amount of ‘stuff’ you need in your home, either by donating unwanted equipment or borrowing things so they don’t take up space in your home, or end up in landfill.
At GTL we also need to ‘declutter’. Years of donations and projects leads to A LOT of surplus equipment - drill bits, screws, tools, storage boxes, wood and materials. To clear space and help raise funds for the charity we are holding a Yard Sale at Civic House on Saturday 17th October*. Come along to find a bargain and help support GTL. All proceeds on the day will go directly towards supporting Glasgow Tool Library cover the rising costs of keeping a small charity operating.
Saturday 17th October also marks International Repair Day. Repair is a key feature of what we do at GTL, as we repair, maintain and safety check all our tools. We will be offering a tool sharpening service on the day, to get your second had tools into tip-top shape. Get in touch if you want to join our Volunteer Maintenance Team.
We are delivering this event in collaboration with Repair Cafe Glasgow, who will be running their amazing Repair Cafe where you can come and get your equipment fixed and learn some repair skills in the process.
Tranquility Cycles will be offering Free Bike maintenance, Boomerang Woodwork will be joining us to do some power tool demos, and Loco Home have a stall to chat about retrofitting your home.
Come along to show your support and help build a culture of share and repair in Glasgow!
