New Membership Prices

It’s been almost 5 years since we launched Glasgow Tool Library, and during that time we’ve never raised our Membership prices. Our goal is to keep the library as inclusive as possible so that anyone, regardless of their financial circumstances, can borrow instead of buy and access equipment that can be vital to people’s wellbeing.

Over the last five years, the amount of equipment we offer has grown, and so has the cost of maintaining it. We have to take steps to cover our costs to keep the library going for you, and the rest of our community in Glasgow.

From May 2nd We’ll be raising our membership fees. Our Saver (concession) membership will stay the same price at £15.

You’ll also notice increased fees to hire specific items. Don’t worry, we’ll still offer equipment at a range of prices. We’ll always keep equipment as affordable as we possibly can, while also aiming to make our service financially sustainable so that we are here to stay.

May membership promos

As a thank you for your continued support, we’re launching two special May membership options that will be available just for the month of May. If you have friends of family member you think would benefit from GTL, tell them to sign up to our newsletter or follow us on social media find out more about these offers when we announce them at the start of May.

Hire Fees

As of May 2nd, we will raise our hire fees for our equipment. We always wanted to provide affordable access to tools and equipment to the people of Glasgow, however, there is limited funding available to help us keep our prices low.

We’re aware that many of you, our Members, are not facing social or economic hardship and could probably afford to pay a bit more when you use our service. For our Concession Members there will be 10% discount on hire fees.

We are still going to keep our prices as low as possible, but we feel the new prices reflect the value of the service we offer.
